The UCAST UWIN sweepstakes was an AccuWeather Facebook sweepstakes that promoted the launch of AccUcast™, an interactive crowdsourcing feature available in the AccuWeather universal iOS app where users can share their local weather updates.
For this sweepstakes, I created the design for the sweepstakes page, ads, and PR and social images. The concept was to use a map with pinpoints, which is the same interface as the AccUcast™ feature.
The Warm Winter Wishes sweepstakes was an AccuWeather Facebook sweepstakes that offered a chance to win daily gift card prizes up to $1,000 from November 25 through December 24.
Users were also encouraged to share their favorite outdoor holiday photo, using the hashtag #winterwishes.
In conjunction with the sweepstakes, AccuWeather sent a street team to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Balloon Inflation. For the event, I designed a handout card as well as a frame that people could use to take pictures.
The Every Minute Matters sweepstakes was an AccuWeather Facebook sweepstakes that offered a chance to win instant daily prizes and a grand prize vacation for six to Disneyland© Resort or Walt Disney World© Resort.
For this sweepstakes, I created custom lettering and design for the sweepstakes page, ads, and PR and social images. The concept was to use imagery and lettering to illustrate magical memories that are made with Disney.
YourCaster is an app published under AccuWeather Labs. It allows the user to publish forecasts using the video feature on their phone.
In order to merge the idea of weather and video, I designed a logo that included a cloud with the aperture of a camera.
At the bottom is another logo I designed for YourCaster that did not get used. It has more of a youthful approach.
The StoryTeller® Interactive Touchscreen System is created by AccuWeather and is a solution for newsroom presentations. It includes the touchscreen hardware and software applications.
In the rebrand process, I created a brochure that introduces the system and applications. This included the use of bright color and active imagery to showcase the different types of applications and content possibilities.
I also created new logos and icons for each individual application. These can be found on the updated StoryTeller website, as well as in the user manuals.
I was given the opportunity to design a wedding invite for a family member. Following the outdoor, casual theme, I used vintage bird illustrations and a light grunge texture.
For the sake of privacy, I edited the names, times, and places to that of one of my favorite movies, Amélie.
As a volunteer for the Schlow Centre Region Library, I created illustrations for their initiative to promote healthy habits and reading. For this idea, I thought of how people may integrate reading into healthy activities. In these two examples, it is suggested that reading may go well with meditation or cooking.
For AccuWeather, I have designed several documents that explain and highlight benefits plans and features. This includes a benefits guide for new hires, a benefits & wellness fair poster, and an open enrollment postcard and benefits mailer.
For Christmas I created an illustrated calendar for my stepfather, Bill. Each month features either a favorite article of clothing, snack, or quote. I titled it "The Essentials of Bill" because these things are often how I remember him by and take a personality of their own.
This is one of my favorite projects thus far. Without Bill knowing, my mom and I discussed which items I should illustrate, while she covertly sent photographs of said items. Perhaps the secrecy is what made the project so enjoyable.
For my process, I used pen and watercolor, scanned the illustrations, and created a spiral-bound calendar.
For New York Fashion Week, AccuWeather sent a street team to New York to interact with celebrities and attendees. For the event, I designed a handout card that featured MinuteCast® as a must have fashion accessory.
You can click here for more information on the event.
For Valentine's Day, I made a pattern featuring different types of chocolate/bonbon motifs. I created two varieties, one with a cream background and another with a deep purple background.
I also calligraphed a phrase to incorporate my pattern into a card. You can download free wallpapers of this pattern and a printable card through this blog post I wrote.
These are two logos I designed for The American Law Institute CLE's Daily Deals microsite. Similar to Groupon, ALI CLE posts deals on select courses. While we decided to create a different type of logo, I still enjoyed creating these.
