This is a piece that reflects my usual illustration style. I like to strike a balance of using detail while retaining simplicity. This creates an end product of straightforward, accessible design with a sense of realism.
I always show this particular illustration first because this is the type of design I do when I am inspired and want to design purely for fun and not for a paycheck or business objective.
Paris Kitty was an idea I came up with involving two things I am very fond of: french culture and cats. For this design, I found images that I used as textures, such as the beret, the baguette, and the texture of the pants. Between using Illustrator and Photoshop, I created a design that used vectors with rasterized effects.
This is one of my favorite illustration pieces. It is based off of the Psych season 4 cover. Psych is one of my favorite shows, and I truly enjoyed illustrating the two main characters, Shawn and Gus. I also added in a pineapple, which is hidden in almost every episode.
Annual Meeting Mailings
Each year, The American Law Institute has an annual meeting held in Washington, D.C. I created a booklet and a save the date postcard to promote the 2014 Annual Meeting. These pieces were mailed to ALI members and feature an impressive list of speakers, including Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Annual Meeting Save the Date Postcard
For The American Law Institute CLE, I create course brochures that advertise in-person courses. Here are two examples of the front panel of these brochures. As a redesign, I've added pictures of the course locations instead of the standard blue and gold template that was used before.
Save the Date Postcards
As part of the redesign of the course brochures, The American Law Institute CLE's save the date postcards were also updated. These postcards highlight the course location for our in-person courses, and use accent colors that are carried throughout each course's marketing collateral.
I enjoy creating typographic pieces, and I consider it an art to be able to align phrases in different types of type treatments. For The American Law Institute CLE, I designed this poster to give to law libraries—it highlights a discount that library patrons can use, which also benefits the library.
Daily Deals Logos
Here are three logos I designed and pitched for The American Law Institute CLE's Daily Deals microsite. Similar to Groupon, ALI CLE posts deals on select courses. While we decided to create a different type of logo, I still enjoyed creating these three ideas and I think any of these would be a suitable logo.
Semi-Annual Sale Banners
For The American Law Institute CLE's semi-annual sale, I created various banners to be featured in our promotional emails. The first banner introduces the offer, while the second banner advertises the extended sale. The third banner was used as a sidebar in other emails that were not directly offering the sale.
Level-Up Learning Solutions, LLC, is a startup organization that provides educational solutions for businesses and non-profit organizations.
As a new business, Level-Up Learning Solutions was in need of a logo. I came up with several concepts from rough sketches, and within a month I was able to deliver the finished vector files.
LawPass FIRM Ad
LawPass is a web-based subscription resource that The American Law Institute CLE has recently released. As part of the marketing for LawPass, I created a full page ad to go on the back cover of our periodicals.
