Since starting my Skillshare membership, I have had the opportunity to learn some new things from a range of designers from different disciplines. After seeing Trenita Finney's pattern design (which she reference's Elizabeth Olwen's class), I knew I had to try the class out for myself.
At first, I intended to do a Christmas-themed design, but Christmas shopping and planning kind of got in the way! Also, I didn't want to restrict my design to a single holiday. So I created a winter pattern with some of my favorite beverages to warm up with during the cold winter months.
The process was very simple to follow, and the drawing and inking itself only took me 15-20 minutes. The art of combining shapes in a seamless pattern? That took some time, which was probably doubled with my perfectionist tendencies.
Overall I was very happy with the result and I will definitely create more patterns in the future. I also plan on uploading the pattern to my Society6 page in the near future.
For the meantime, please enjoy some free wallpapers I made from this pattern!
